We remember when we were kids and our big plans for the evening consisted of just watching Nickelodeon shows. Well, weâre adults now and we have many more options, which is why itâll be that much more satisfying to choose to stay in and watch those exact same shows again.
Nickelodeon has announced that The Splat, their newly announced âchannelâ devoted to airing its shows from the 90s, will debut its first chunk of programming on October 5Â on TeenNick, starting at 10 pm.
Youâll be getting a little bit of everything, from live action shows like Clarissa Explains it All and Are You Afraid of the Dark, to cartoons like Angry Beavers and Ren & Stimpy, to game shows like Legends of the Hidden Temple. And thatâs just the tip of the 90s nostalgia iceberg.
The Splat looks like it will be less of a traditional channel and more of an amalgamation of different media. Theyâll air shows, but also rely on The Splat website, a large social media presence, and YouTube to bring you your favorites.
Oh, and theyâre also releasing a new Nick-emoji keyboard to go with it. Because sometimes the only way to describe how bad your day is going is with a Reptar emoji.
Nickelodeon has already announced more programming for the month. Starting October 12Â theyâll celebrate our favorite little monster with a Reptar week on Rugrats, and the following week theyâll have Hey Arnold episodes dedicated to our favorite âStoop-kids.â
And in case you really want to nerd out, just in time for Halloween theyâll bring back their call-in show, Nick or Treat. It wonât be weird when a bunch of thirty-somethings call in to try and win a bucket of slime, right? Asking for a friend.
What are you most excited to have back in your life from Nickelodeonâs cache of great 90s programming? Tell us in the comments below.
