New Zach Galifianakis, Louis C.K. Series BASKETS Gets Ten Episode Order from FX

Hey, people who like good things! You’re fans of Zach Galifianakis, right? Good, because we have some major news for you: FX has just ordered a 10-episode first season for his new show Baskets, and the news gets better because the show is also going to be executive produced by none other than Louis C.K.. According to the network, the series, co-created by Galifianakis, C.K. and Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia), will make its debut sometime in 2016.

The official plot is as follows: “In a world constrained by corporate interests and the homogenization of society, one man in Bakersfield, California dares to follow his dream of becoming a professional clown. But after an unsuccessful enrollment at a prestigious clowning school in Paris, the only job he can find is with the local rodeo. Baskets follows Chip Baskets’ (Galifianakis) pursuit of his dream, against all odds, to be a respected clown.”

Yup, that sounds like something we’d expect from Galifianakis, C.K. and FX, and it probably won’t be the last. The series is the first show to be produced as part of a new overall deal FX has with C.K.’s production company, Pig Newton.

At this point, we’re game for anything FX and FXX have to offer. The networks are consistent deliverers of quality in both comedy and drama with the likes of Sons of Anarchy, You’re The Worst, The League, American Horror Story and It’s Always Sunny. This new series will also make for a balanced lineup with what will surely be a sex-filled fever dream in Denis Leary’s Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.
