For two seasons, the Flash tried to avoid drastically changing his past. But after losing his father to Zoom, Barry Allen threw caution to the wind by traveling back in time and saving his mother’s life in the second season finale of The Flash. Now, the Flashpoint has arrived and Barry isn’t the only Flash in town!
The CW has released an extended trailer for the third season of The Flash which establishes Wally West as the Flash of this new timeline…and he doesn’t like to be called “Kid Flash!” The video also offers a few glimpses of the Rival, Wally’s speedster supervillain. Note that Barry doesn’t seem to be too concerned about this. He may have had to kidnap the old Team Flash to get them together in this timeline, but Barry has the best of both worlds. His parents are alive, his friends are assembled, and he’s still got his powers.
Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Unfortunately for Barry, his actions have consequences. Everything that made him the Flash is fading away, and only the Reverse-Flash appears to be willing to tell Barry just how badly he screwed things up. Even though its likely that Barry will eventually fix the timeline, he may not get back everything that he used to have.
The Flash season 3 will hit The CW on Tuesday, October 4.
