New Teaser Poster Shows GOTHAM Will Beware the COURT OF OWLS

With Gotham’s third season to air in September, and their panel at SDCC right around the bend, DC Entertainment and Fox decided to give fans a taste of what’s to come in the world before Batman. Reported by Zap2It, both companies have released a teaser poster for this year, and the Court of Owls are front and center.

Court of Owls

The Court was revealed to be behind the experiments of Dr. Hugo Strange and the projects of Indian Hill last season. First appearing in Bat-lore during Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s run on Batman during the New 52, they are an Illuminati-like group that runs Gotham from behind the scenes. In the comic, when the Court faced opposition, it would send one of its genetically modified assassins, Talons, to remedy the problem.

I am very interested to see how the Court plays into the television show. Producers of the show hinted it was responsible for the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne. With the possibility of the appearance of the deadly Talons, and no Batman to stand in its way, who within this show is capable of stopping them?

Gotham is an interesting take on the Dark Knight, as it flips the script. Rather than Batman causing escalation and the appearance of new villains, it’s the villains who inadvertently force the creation of the Caped Crusader. I can’t wait to see how the Court of Owls fits into this tale.

Gotham season three premieres September 19th on Fox.

So what do you think? Are you excited to see what the Court of Owls will bring to the table in Gotham’s third season? Let me know on Twitter or recite the nursery rhyme to frighten Gotham’s school children in the comments below.
