Star Wars is a story that has been moving people for over 35 years, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Kids and adults discover the saga for the first time every day, and Disney and Lucasfilm want to reach out to the new generation of younglings and introduce them to the franchise. To that end, they’ve developed interactive storybooks titled Star Wars Journeys. The storybooks are released in the form of apps (only iOS so far), and Star Wars Journeys: The Phantom Menace launched last week.
Apps will be released for the remaining five films leading up to Episode VII, and they cost $6.99 each. That’s not a small amount of money to drop for an app, but they are packed with content. You’re getting a story loaded with information and game elements. For example, The Phantom Menace storybook app has a story mode, a database of background information, and a pod racing game. You can unlock additional content along the way.
What do you think of this digital enterprise? Will you be purchasing any of the Star Wars Journeys apps? Let us know your feelings in the comments.

It looks like it might be cool but I’d probably be more inclined to purchase this if it were like $2 or $3. $6.99 is a lot for an app. Hopefully it will go on sale so I can check it out.
