New STAR WARS: Force for Change Campaign Announced by Mark Hamill and Kathleen Kennedy

Do you dream of recreating the final scene of The Force Awakens and flying off to Skellig Island to visit Luke Skywalker just like Rey did? If so, you probably should not try to fulfill that fantasy by attempting to sneak onto the set of Episode VIII. Instead, you should make a donation to a very worthy cause and hope you win a chance to do it on the up-and-up.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Mark Hamill announced the newest campaign for the Star Wars charity Force For Change. Starting today, April 5 (which perfectly coincides with the release of The Force Awakens on Blu-ray), and lasting until May 4, Star Wars will match any donations made by fans, up to one million dollars each, for four charities: the American Red Cross, UNICEF, Make-A-Wish, and Boys & Girls Club of America.

The campaign finally let Mark Hamill have some dialogue, so it’s already making a difference.

They will also announce a new challenge every week and the new prizes that will be up for grabs with them. Anyone that makes a donation as part of the campaign is entered to win an all expenses paid vacation to Ireland, including Skellig Island, the place where sad Luke Skywalker was hanging out all that time. You can go the donation page here to do something good and maybe win something incredible.

Kennedy said Star Wars fans have already helped to raise over 10 million dollars through Force For Change, so (no surprise to us) there are a lot of nerds out there with big hearts. We’re sure this new campaign will be a big success too.

What set would you want to visit the most from The Force Awakens? Tell us in the comments below.
