Radiohead Has ‘Lots’ Of New Material, Jonny Greenwood Says

Okay, I’m just going to go ahead and say it. Radiohead might be the ultimate alternative rock group. I said might, but I really stand by the idea that they are, because what separates them from other bands is their ability to forge an honest, emotional connection with the listener by trusting their own sonic instincts. Kid A and Ok Computer will be forever remembered for their intricate layering of story and feeling, laid against a giant wall of sound that penetrates deep into your subconscious, and then jolts you awake. What will also probably go down in history for this same reason, is their new album–the band’s ninth to date, and their first since 2011’s The King of Limbs.

Lead guitarist Jonny Greenwood dropped the news during a Russian radio interview, that their new album has been recorded and is in the ‘tinkering’ stages. He clarified his comments on Twitter, reporting “lots has been recorded, and we’re about to go through it all to see if it’s any good.” He said that they hope to go on tour next year in support of it, so keep your eyes and ears open for dates! Their live show is not one to be missed.
