New POKÉMON Cookbook Will Let You Bake ‘Em All

Although the holiday season is a good ways away, VIZ Media just gave foodies and video game fans a reason to look forward to it—the book, written by Maki Kudo, includes a variety of tasty dishes inspired by famed characters from the series. Included are over 35 recipes for snacks, appetizers, and entrees.

If you want to get creative, the book incorporates cooking instructions for those who want to create meals that resemble their favorite characters and elements such as the “Meowth mashed potatoes” or the “Poké Ball sushi roll.”

Senior editorial director for VIZ Media Beth Kawasaki said of Pokémon’s new food venture, “This book offers fans a tasty way to celebrate Pokémon with dozens of recipes inspired by the property’s many iconic characters. Filled with mouth-watering dishes for the whole family, this cookbook is sure to become a fun and creative kitchen companion for families and foodies!”

Pokémon is a global empire. The company has conquered gaming, TV, movies, merchandise, and now food. Over $270 million dollars in video game titles have been sold and over 20 billion trading cards have been sold internationally.

If you’re a microwave dinner type of person or a Pokémon fan, this may be the motivation you need to finally make home cooked meals. Now, if you’re a real anime junkie, play some of your favorite Pokémon episodes in the background while making a “Pikachu Pizza.”
