WARNING: Possible Spoilers for The Walking Dead comic.
A popular character from The Walking Dead comic may be making his TV debut in season six. In the photo below, courtesy of Entertainment Tonight, we can see what may be the first appearance of Paul âJesusâ Monroe.
The photo shows cast members Steven Yeun (Glen) and Norman Reedus (Daryl), but also an actor wearing a beanie with the long hair and beard that are the trademarks of one of Robert Kirkmanâs favorite characters.
First seen in The Walking Dead #91, Monroe was caught spying on the Alexandria Safe Zone and was later revealed to be a recruiter for the Hilltop Community. Over time, he became part of Rickâs decision-making circle and fought alongside the group against Negan and the Saviors. Currently, he acts as Maggieâs second-in-command of the Hilltop Community.
An openly gay character in the comics, the addition of Monroe once again emphasizes the diverse world of The Walking Dead, and one of the reasons why it is one of modern televisionâs most popular shows.
While we are still not 100% certain who this character is, Kirkman has gone on record saying Monroe would eventually be appearing on the show, so the speculation is definitely warranted.
The Walking Deadâs 6th season premieres October 11th on AMC.
So what do you think? Is Jesus making his Walking Dead TV debut? Or is the show going Meta and someone is just cosplaying as his favorite comic character?
