New Pacific Rim Posters Have Jaegers Aplenty

Pacific Rim 2

As if we already weren’t stoked beyond measure for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacifc Rim after the Con trailer came out earlier this week, we now get a new poster and banner poster over which to drool. The second, a sexy widescreen number, shows the Jaeger codenamed Striker Eureka facing off against a two-horned Kaiju over a bridge with cars on it. I’m sure it’s inconvenient, but if I were in a city that was the battleground for giant monsters and robots, I think I’d take surface streets to work that day. Or just call in sick. Or move. Anyway, the poster is super fantastic.

The main poster has all of the Jaeger suits in one place at one time, with our main one, Gipsy Danger, taking center stage. Sooo pretty. Can we have one? Pacific Rim hits theaters on July 12th. Suit up!

After seeing those posters, I am so excited for this movie! I super love their concept on how they’ve shown great visuals on there posters. I can’t wait to fall in line for this.

    I’m still skeptical…

They expect us to believe that the US will be the first ones to make larger than life robots operated by people?

Do the words “Evangelion, Gundam, Big O, etc.” ring a bell?

It’ll clearly be Japan that does.
We’ll just take that idea and make it ‘bigger’.
Oh, and give it a glowy ring in the center of it’s chest just like that other popular action movie character has.

Sorry, I couldn’t help but be a little cynical there.

It may not sound like it, but I really do hope I’m wrong.
Who know’s? This could turn out to be a really ‘good’ movie (to let your kids go see).

That’s the Sydney harbour bridge in the poster (Striker Eureka is Australia’s Jaeger) though I doubt any of the film will be set here, that still looks sick as!
