Lightsabers are one of the most iconic aspects of the Star Wars universe, and yet the history of the weapon has rarely been explored. But later this month in LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, fans will get to see the very first lightsaber, the Kyber Saber and witness its destructive power!
In the new trailer for The Freemaker Adventures, the Freemaker family learns about the legend of the Kyber Saber as the Jedi-like Naare attempts to convince them to join her quest to retrieve it. The youngest son, Rowan Freemaker, also appears to be a Force-wielder…and a bit of screw-up, while his sister, Kordi, wants no part of the mission. We don’t get much from the oldest brother, Zander, but we do get several glimpses of Roger, a former Trade Federation battle droid who has been reprogrammed to serve the family.
Unlike Star Wars Rebels, The Freemaker Adventures is clearly designed as a comedy first, which is why the slapstick is strong with this one. The trailer also shows off a few of the famous characters who will show up on the series, including Lando, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, the Emperor, and even Maz Kanata! But don’t look for Han Solo on this show, since it takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures is set to debut on Disney XD on June 20.
