New Images and Plot Details Emerge for AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL

In a little over a month, American Horror Story: Hotel begins on FX, featuring new lead Lady Gaga, and a large cast of returning favorites from previous seasons like Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson and several others. In this week’s Entertainment Weekly cover story, some juicy new details about the show’s fifth season have been revealed…. including how this year’s storyline is connected to the very first season of the show, American Horror Story: Murder House.

“We do go to the Murder House for one episode,” says show creator Ryan Murphy. Does that mean we’re getting a Harmon family ghost reunion for one episode? And could the Harmon’s neighbor Constance, played by the amazing Jessica Lange, make a one episode appearance? (Lange recently said she’d be open to returning for a one or two episode stint on the show.)

One Murder House alum definitely making a return is actress Christine Estabrook. Estabrook played Marcy, the realtor who gave the Harmons a raw deal and sold them the Murder House without telling them that it was, you know, a murder house. As it turns out, Marcy is also the real estate agent for the Hotel Cortez, the titular hotel of the show. In the image below, Marcy is showing off the hotel to fashion designer Will Drake (Cheyenne Jackson) and his young son.

The magazine has also released a set of photos of each of the show’s principal cast members, including a new shot of Gaga as the Countess, the owner of the Hotel Cortez, as well as Matt Bomer as her lover Donovan. The images also introduce Wes Bentley as Detective John Lowe, Angela Bassett as a movie star (and ex-lover to the countess) named Ramona Royale, Naomi Campbell as Vogue editor Claudia, Kathy Bates as Donovan’s mother Iris, Finn Wittrock as the Countess’ new romantic interest Tristan, Evan Peters as murderer James March, Max Greenfield as a junkie named Gabriel, and Sarah Paulson as another junkie named “Hypodermic Sally.” Between that name and “Ramona Royale”, this season might top American Horror Story: Coven for the amount of drag queen names Ryan Murphy gives his characters.

You can check out some new images of the principal cast in the EW gallery below. American Horror Story: Hotel premieres Wednesday, October 7, 2015 on FX.
