New GHOSTBUSTERS Calls on Annie Potts for Cameo Appearance

Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, which has recently wrapped principle photography in Boston, has wrangled a decent chunk of the original cast to reappear in the new film in cameo roles. Fans will get to see small moments involving Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson in the new film, but the boys are not the only ones getting in on the fun. Annie Potts, who portrayed the receptionist Janine Melnitz in the original two Ghostbusters films, has also filmed a cameo in the newest ghost-wrangling adventure.

According to Boston Herald, Potts filmed her scene up on the Boston set just before filming wrapped, and is rumored to be playing a hotel clerk. Of course the idea of a team taking a trip to a hotel will instantly have everyone remember the first film and the Ghostbusters’ encounter with Slimer. We can only hope that Potts will play a character similar to the uppity hotel manager portrayed by Michael Ensign in the original flick.

Potts also returned to her character Janine in 2009’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game, like the rest of the OG main cast. And we have to say, Potts joining the other Ghostbusters cameos just proves that the rage over Feig’s reboot is not shared by the original cast. So everybody just calm down until we get a trailer at least!
