New Character Art for the Heroes of Disney’s Animated BIG HERO 6

Of all the Marvel properties that Disney is developing into films, Big Hero 6 is by far the most obscure. But since it’s the first to be adapted into a Disney animated film (directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams), it’s also the most intriguing. Little has been seen of the young adult super-team’s cinematic incarnation thus far, but Disney recently offered previews of its upcoming animated films (including Inside Out and Feast, the short that will play before Big Hero 6) at France’s annual Annecy Film Festival. Key Art from the film was displayed on large blocks at the event, and French illustrator David Gilson shared photos of these blocks on Instagram.

The rest of the art can be viewed on Gilson’s Instagram account. It depicts Big Hero 6 team members Wasabi, Hiro, Go Go Tomago (voiced by Jamie Chung), Honey Lemon, Fred (voiced by T.J. Miller; here in his Fredzilla mode), and the lovable Baymax. The film is due out in theaters on November 7th of this year. Here’s the official description:

“With all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Big Hero 6 is an action-packed comedy adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who learns to harness his genius—thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi and their like-minded friends: adrenaline junkie Go Go Tamago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. When a devastating turn of events catapults them into the midst of a dangerous plot unfolding in the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to his closest companion—a cutting-edge robot named Baymax—and transforms the group into a band of high-tech heroes determined to solve the mystery.”

Thanks to Stitch Kingdom for bringing this art to our attention.
