Gear up and prepare yourself for more guns-blazing, zombie-killing action! Capcom and Marza Animation Planet have just announced a planned CG movie with a working title, RESIDENT EVIL CG 3, set to release in 2017.
This follows the news of a Resident Evil 2 remake (FINALLY!), the HD remaster of Resident Evil 0, an online shooter called Umbrella Corps, and the last live-action installment, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Feeling lucky yet, Resident Evil fans?
In the long span of Resident Evil history, movies have appeared over and over and over again. Love them or hate them, Resident Evil films help this zombie-infested world expand with the times and explore different themes from the beloved video games. Resident Evil: Degeneration from 2008 and Resident Evil: Damnation from 2012 proved the CG treatment was a welcomed yet understated branch for the franchise, so a new CG film is a sight for sore eyes.
RESIDENT EVIL CG 3 is a planned reboot of the series, though some familiar characters are rumored to be included.
Creator of the Japanese horror flick series Ju-on/The Grudge, Takashi Shimizu, will act as executive producer while Takanori Tsujimoto will be directing and Psycho-Pass scrib, Makoto Fukami, will be writing the script.
