At some point without us realizing it, the MCU stopped making superhero movies and instead switched to pure sci-fi. And we are here for it. While we’ve been mostly distracted by how amazing Thor: Ragnarok looks, every single clip, scene, teaser, and sneak peek for next year’s Black Panther has been just as stunning. That goes for the newest, action-packed trailer released by Marvel, which looks like it could well be the most gorgeous sci-fi movie of the year. One that just so happens to star the next great superhero.
The movie’s latest fantastic trailer, with its flying ships, amazing costumes, and larger-than-life characters, finds Chadwick Boseman‘s TâChalla trying to figure out what kind of hero, king, and man he is fated to be following the death of his father. As if this weren’t enough to deal with, the return of an old enemy, played by Michael B. Jordan, puts not only Wakanda but the whole world in danger. And man, does it look like it will be a fun battle to save humankind!
It also helps that the rest of the cast includes Lupita Nyongâo, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis, with Creed and Frutivale Station director Ryan Coogler at the helm.
Black Panther hits theaters next year on February 9th, and as lovers of sci-fi and superheroes, we can’t wait to see how much more greatness it’s hiding.
