This year is the 30th Anniversary of Back to the Future, and the 26th Anniversary of Back to the Future 2, which featured Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) as they traveled to the then far off year of 2015 in order to save the future for Martyâs kids. And while the Cubs may be in the NLCS, Back To The Future 2 didnât have much luck when it came to predicting the actual future. And this new video from CollegeHumor explains as much in very depressingly hilarious terms.
Unlike the 2015 of the 80s imagination, Marty and Doc Brown are considerably less impressed by the real 2015. In fact, Marty has some decidedly NSFW things to say about modern fashion and Oxboards.
Marty is also quite disappointed by the realities of climate change, airport security, the state of modern baseball and print media, not to mention the modern online bullying tactics. Come to think of it, Marty and Doc never quite get around to helping Martyâs kids by the end of the video.
Itâs true that our future kinda sucks compared to the one that Back to the Future 2 promised us. (We’re still holding out hope for a freakin’ hoverboard!) But as a consolation prize, Lloyd filmed a few new Doc Brown segments for the Back to the Future 30th Anniversary Blu-ray/DVD sets that are coming out next Tuesday, October 21.
