New ARROW Photos Unleash Vixen on Star City!

Arrow’s Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) may soon regret sparing the life of Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman). While the former Ra’s al Ghul is understandably pissed about losing his hand and the entire League of Assassins, Merlyn has already revealed to Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) that Oliver has a son: William (Jack Moore). In response, Darhk quickly kidnapped William to use as leverage against Oliver.

The CW has released 20 new images from “Taken,” this week’s episode of Arrow. The photos reveal that William’s mother, Samantha Clayton (Anna Hopkins) isn’t dead and that she’s turned to Oliver for help in getting their son back. From the looks of these pics, Samantha will soon learn about Oliver’s double life as a superhero as the entire Arrow team rallies around her.

More importantly, the new photos mark the live-action debut of Vixen (Megalyn Echikunwoke), the DC heroine who made her Arrowverse debut last summer in the Vixen animated series. The events of that story are still in continuity, so Vixen will already know Oliver when “Taken” begins, and she’ll help him track down Darkh with her mystically enhanced animal senses.

Since the photos appear to show Vixen directly confronting Darkh, it seems likely that we’ll see her other animal powers in action. This episode may also go a long way towards Vixen’s future in live-action. While a second season of the Vixen animated series has already been announced, the CW has floated the possibility of Vixen joining DC’s Legends of Tomorrow next season, or possibly getting her own spinoff series.
