New AMERICAN HORROR STORY: CULT Teaser Will Ruin Bubble Baths Forever

Now that the title of American Horror Story‘s seventh season has finally been revealed to be Cult, a flurry of weird as hell and creepy-as-hell marketing has started to infiltrate the web and our deepest nightmares. That’s right, it’s that time of year where Ryan Murphy and the rest of the AHS team at FX to start dropping cryptic, unsettling teasers to get us ready for the show’s September 5 premiere. Cult first released their “join us” video to advertise the season’s title, but they’ve only just released their first classic, AHS-style teaser. Take a look, but be warned. It might ruin bubble baths for you forever:

Creepy clowns have been all over AHS: Cult‘s marketing, and paired with the knowledge that the infamous Twisty the Clown (from the Freak Show season) will be returning, it means clowns will certainly be important. And showing this clown being more or less “empty” on the inside could speak to the state of the cult members we’ll meet in September. After all, the idea of a lack of individuality and a (literal) hive mind has already been teased out in the show’s first poster.

Though we all have our speculations about what’s to come this season, we don’t have a ton of confirmed information. We do know Cult will take place in Michigan, moments after the 2016 election, and that Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will be playing a couple named Ally and Kai. Apart from that, we’ll just have to wait and try to decipher Murphy’s cryptic teasers. But if the marketing for this season is any indication, American Horror Story: Cult is going to be one hell of a frightening season. So get your DVRs ready for September 5!

What do you think of the latest teaser? What are your theories about this season? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
