Netflix ordered four half-hour episodes and a making-of feature of W/ Bob and David in April, and news on the Bob Odenkirk and David Cross collaborative front has been relatively quiet since then. Today, the former Mr. Show co-stars appear in a new teaser video for the series, which reveals a November 13 premiere date. Check it out above.
If the trailer is to be believed, Odenkirk and Cross have been traveling together in a porta-potty spaceship since Mr. Show went off the air in late 1998, and have grown long, gray beards, one looking significantly more realistic than the other. Even though that’s a blatant continuity error — we all saw Cross’ success with Arrested Development and Odenkirk’s stints on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul— we’re just happy to have them back.
Along with Odenkirk and Cross, the series is executive produced by Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, Marc Provissiero, Naomi Odenkirk, Tim Sarkes and Dave Kneebone. Guest stars include Paul F. Tompkins, Brian Posehn (who appears in the teaser video), Jill Talley, Jay Johnston and John Ennis.
Former cast members have not yet been confirmed to appear, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they did, along with a bunch of other new faces. Odenkirk and Cross have a stronger hold over the entertainment industry now than they did back in the day, so any celebrity with admiration for the history of comedy was probably more than willing to be involved in the new project.
Can't wait to share all this fun idiocy with you all http://t.co/X2x6YcxHku via @TheAVClub
