Netflix Reveals Which of Its Shows People Binge the Fastest

One of the appeals of Netflix‘s massive catalog of content is the ability to stream an entire run of your favorite series in one sitting. The streaming service even came up with a term for this phenomenon: “binge racing.” If you’re a Netflix subscriber, the odds of you participating in this form of bingeing are pretty high.

If you ever wanted to see evidence of everyday people bragging about their binge racing activities, then you’ll want to watch the video below. As an added bonus, /Film has the details on Netflix’s top five fastest binged shows, and the results may surprise you. Instead of much-hyped shows like Stranger Things or Orange is the New Black, it’s revivals like Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and Fuller House that round out the top two spots.

When you stop and think about it, Gilmore Girls and Fuller House edging out newer shows does make sense. Both were popular during the times they were on broadcast television, and their fans had to be overjoyed after learning they would be coming back. Some non-Netflix subscribers (there have to be a few of you out there) probably even signed up just to watch.

The complete list of the top five series gets even more surprising, however. Beyond Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life at number one and Fuller House in the two spot, we have Ashton Kutcher‘s The Ranch at three, Marvel’s The Defenders at number four, and the anime series The Seven Deadly Sins pulling the rear at number five. Though The Defenders’ popularity can be easily explained by the Marvel draw, The Ranch and The Seven Deadly Sins filling out the top five illustrate a more eclectic viewership than expected for the streaming company.

Were you surprised to find Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and Fuller House as Netflix’s most binge racing worthy shows? Let us know in the comments below.
