NERDSWAG: Win Tickets to Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton

With Halloween rapidly approaching the events to celebrate this monster-filled month of October are coming at us fast. One event that every All Hallow’s Eve enthusiast is ready for are the performances of Danny Elfman’s Music from the Film’s of Tim Burton. Former Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman will be performing the original tunes he composed for the Tim Burton’s films The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Batman and more. The shows in Los Angeles are proving such a hot ticket that a 3rd performance has been added. Tickets are still available for the recently added show on the 30th so don’t delay and get tickets here. If you’re willing to roll the dice with Ooogie boogie though, we have a pair of tickets to give away to that show.

Until his  performances at Royal Albert Hall, Danny hadn’t sang publicly since Oingo Boingo broke up in 1995. You’ll be majorly disappointed if you miss this “Dead Man’s Party”, because at the shows in England Danny took on the role of Pumpkin King, singing “Jack’s Lament” and “What’s This?” among others. Elfman was also joined onstage at Royal Albert Hall by Helena Bonham Carter to sing “Sally’s Song.” Who will be joining the macabre musician in LA? Buy tickets now or enter to win a pair of tickets for free by entering your email and commenting below with your favorite Elfman composed track. Hurry, you only have until noon on Monday 10/28 to enter. The winner will be contacted via email with instructions for redeeming the tickets.

I am completely in love with Twice the Love in Big Fish. And I must say the Floop Song from Spy Kids ranks high up too.

  2. Octavio says:

Cool City off of 1984’s SOLO.  Every song is good but that is probably more universally accepted.

    was the winner chosen?

  4. Shouka says:

    My mind changes every time!

  5. John Abarca says:

My favorite while in Oingo Boingo is the song to Weird Science, as a composer it has got to be the theme from Batman.

  6. Matt R. says:

If I can dig into the Oingo Boingo catalog, my favorite track would be Insanity.

If strictly looking at soundtracks, it would have to be the Simpson’s theme song.

  7. Jamie B. says:

I’ve been nuts about the music in Batman Returns since the first time I saw it, especially the Birth of a Penguin / main title opening. Also, I’m surprised no one has mentioned his work on Spider-man. Both that one and Batman Returns are stellar scores that make whatever you’re doing seem epic. Take that, folding laundry!

  8. Jenn says:

One track? So hard! But I’ve always loved the main theme from Sleep Hollow. (Or simply, “Introduction”)

Close runner’s up would be the Main Titles from Beetlejuice and “Alice’s Theme,” which is the alarm I wake up to.

Anything from Nightmare is just cheating. You have to count the whole album.
