That was fascinating. I could have listened to hours more of the stories these gentlemen had to tell. Such a good episode!
Love the podcast – it and the “Wait,What?” podcast for the Savage Critics are the two I look forward to most every week. I’ll echo the comment that I’m very happy to see the love thrown to comic writers, which isn’t a surprise having gleaned the affection for the medium you obviously harbor, Mr. Blacker.
I just started – and will listen throughout the work day, when possible – and I find it fascinating how truncated and “re-written” Mr. Wein’s recollection of issues between Alan Moore and DC comics is. Moore became irritated with the movies and decided he wanted nothing to do with DC? Ah, well. What should I have expected? I was happy to hear Ed Brubaker and Jackson Publick react with the sarcasm I felt in Wein’s comment that all of Moore’s stories are the same story.
But enough of my bitching. On to the rest of the podcast.
Thanks again,
chris
Great stories all around but especially from Len. I’d love to see a Mad Men style series set in the 1960s-70s of the comic book industry.
You’ve got a lot of great panels, but I am so stoked you threw some love towards comics. I would’ve been happy listening to each of these guys on their own, because the show was fascinating. Thanks for putting this out there.
As a comicbook geek this has been a fantastic episode! Absolutely love Len’s behind the scenes stories. Also it was great to find myself reacting just like Ed’s and Jackson’s to Mr. Wein’s stories. π
Greatness! Been waiting for a Brubaker podcast appearance forever and as usual TWP doesn’t fail to deliver π Very insightful and entertaining.
