Brilliant writer! As a total Broadchurch nerd (I bought the DVDs) I’m excited that the universe is expanding…the French remake is about to start and I’m so familiar with Broadchurch that spotting the differences in Gracepoint is great fun. Even the first episode had a change that could either be a game changer or a rainbow-hued herring. Second episode had a difference that’s making me side-eye a completely different suspect, and we already know the ending/killer is different so I’m really loving letting Chibnall torture me weekly all over again. Tennant has certainly tweaked his protagonist’s personality definitively and with such focus to detail and his acting and accent is very good. (Episode 2 bathroom scene was breath-taking) Episode 3 is coming up and that’s where it really diverges. Gracepoint has a different feel to it and I’m loving the performances of all the actors. With Strong, Chibnall and Game of Thrones director David Petrarca it watches like a high-end cable channel show. Happily it picks up rating my almost 50% 3 days after initial viewing after both episodes…it’s up against Thursday Night Football. Can’t wait for the next episode!
Forgot to mention Euros Lyn is also directing!
