Why is the Ultimate Edition of BATMAN V SUPERMAN Getting an R-Rating?

As we get ever closer to the March 25, 2016 release date for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, more and more details (and rumors) from the epic movie — as well as what’s next for Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent — are being revealed in promotional interviews with director Zack Snyder, and we can’t help but eat ’em all up.

Snyder recently went out of his way to not actually reveal to Entertainment Weekly whether or not The Flash crosses the time-space continuum to give Batman a warning in one of the film’s “knightmares,” leaving it a little hazy as to whether he’s actually just a hallucination or the real deal. We also heard that Superman will not be making appearing in the Suicide Squad movie later this year, but we got hints that the Man of Steel might be dropping in to the next, next DC Extended Universe flick, Wonder Woman. However, the juiciest of all the details we got this week is the breakdown from Snyder and producer Charles Roven of what will be different in the “Ultimate Edition” release of Batman v Superman that pushes it over the line into R-rated territory.

Join host Dan Casey, as we run down the list of differences between the theatrical release and the supersized Ultimate Edition, including Justice League Easter Eggs, longer scenes, and an entire extra character who was cut out of the film, on today’s Nerdist News.

What do you think will push the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman over the edge into an R-rating. How could Superman show up in Wonder Woman if it’s set in the past? Let us know in the comments below!
