NERDIST NEWS: CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS, THOR 2, and Bionic Arms

We came, you saw, and together we conquered the Internet’s overwhelming lack of a thrice-weekly news program that asks the hard-hitting questions you want answered on a set that looks like a delightful blend between a gastropub and a Korean spa. But enough about Monday’s episode — that’s quite literally old news.

Today is Wednesday and Jessica Chobot and co. are here to help get you over Hump Day in style. On today’s show, we run down some truly terrifying Call of Duty: Ghosts statistics, tell you whether or not you should go see Thor: The Dark World, bid adieu to Blockbuster and show you the latest advancements in cybernetic enhancements all in one action-packed episode. So, pull up a chair, pop open a cold one and prepare for the unbridled awesomeness of Nerdist News.

  1. The show us very AOTS like, and I love it.

  2. Anthony says:

The foreground lighting is much better, yay!. A relevant visual insert on the upper right might work, because the internet. May need to make the Nerdist Icon/Bug smaller to fit that. Eventually could cram more info and expand up to 10 minutes, though anything more might tune out the ADD crowd.

    p.s. – NNN = Nerdist News Ninja?

  3. Mark says:

FACT: Call of Duty Ghosts did not make $1 Billion dollars in 24 hours. This is the number of games sold to retailers not actual individual units sold. GTA V still holds the record for over 29 million units sold and $1 Billion dollars in sales in 3 days. Please get your facts right Nerdist.

    Quote from Forbes.com
The $1 billion for Call of Duty: Ghosts reflects sell-in – that is, the number of copies of Call of Duty: Ghosts shipped to retailers. Put another way, retailers expect that this number of copies will provide them with a sensible balance of risk between overstock and running out of copies in individual stores.

  4. Norb says:

I was actually an endangered species for Halloween…a Blockbuster Employee. Got my ancient shirt out of mothballs and wore a frowny face. Oh Cockbuster…so not sad to see you go.

  5. nick says:

watch the video!! it didn’t say blockbuster already closed its remaining 300 stores, but is GOING TO.

  6. Jeff says:

So you came to Alaska? Cause we have like 4 Blockbuster stores that are still open and operate. And we are part of the United States

  7. I really love you new podcast show Jessica. I hope it really good to you and look forward to the news on the stuff we love! Keep the show going.

  8. Blake says:

Love it. Still not wild about the off camera “laugh track” but really enjoying the pre taped bits. Mechanical arm causing the movie “Gravity” to happen makes my heart happy.
