I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I missed my dog (don’t worry, he’s at my parent’s house in Cincinnati, alive). So as I sat down to write this, I was thinking of featuring something depressing like The National (which leaked this week, FYI, and is amazing, FYI). But as I scrolled through photos of Dexter, I felt I should choose a song that focused on the good.

She & Him definitely wins the award for most adorkable band. Period. I am constantly charmed by their flowy harmonies, ooooo’s and ahhhhh’s. Suffice to say, this album definitely emphasizes Zooey Deschanel’s “manic pixie dream girl” persona, but that’s not always a bad thing, right? The lady can sing.

Never Wanted Your Love is like if it rained sugar water at the “I’m Awesome Awards,” which were being held inside the Wonka Factory. It’s like you can smell the positivity from your computer. M. Ward is kinda sorta perfect. He’s just so damn good at guitar.

So please listen while looking at photos of your pets. Everything will be okay, because Zooey said so.
