Happy Birthday to me- or as the lovely cast of my beloved Community would say, Happy Explosion from My Mother’s Uterus Day! Wooo! So, as today is my day of all days, I was thinking of posting my favorite songs, though, I don’t think you’d appreciate the Finding Nemo soundtrack in its entirety. I was also thinking of posting the new James Blake, but it’s a bit depressing, so I’m passing on that as well. I could totally post that “all I want for my birthday is a big booty hoe” song, but I think I might get beaten with rolled up comic books or strangled with an old Batman costume. So, instead, I’m posting my current favorite MsMr song, “Ash Tree Lane,” which is a lovely track off of their recent album, “Candy Bar Creep Show.”

MsMr is a talented duo hailing from New York. Their single “Hurricane” has gotten a lot of attention in the indie music world, comparing them to Lana Del Ray and Policia. Personally, their shadowy, ethereal vibe wakes me up when I’m stuck in miserable traffic or if I’m having a particularly trying time getting out of bed. So, as a birthday gift to me, please listen to this particularly sexy track of the week and let me know what you think!
