It’s a bird! No, It’s a plane! No, really guys, it’s a bird…
Birdman opens today, and all I can say is that we’re so freaking excited. The buzz has been buzzin’ (or should I say flappin’) and the movie looks so great we couldn’t help ourselves when we found a few bits of it’s exceptionally jazzy soundtrack floating around gloriously on SoundCloud.
If you’ve been living in a hole and don’t know what Birdman is, let me just say we hope to god it’s Michael Keaton’s comeback. No longer Batman, Michael Keaton has taken the form of a much less scary winged creature. The film looks gritty, and apparently it’s been pieced together to make it look like one continuous shot. Very Russian Ark-esque.
Director Alejandro González Iñárritu, chose Antonio Sanchez to helm the score, which is heavy on the jazz and drums as you’ll hear in the the cacophonous track below. Is it just me or do the first few seconds of drums sort of sound like the old intro to Late Night With Conan O’Brien?
How excited are you guys to see Michael Keaton on the silver screen once more? We could not be more stoked.

Comeback? Dudes, he never left. He was in Robocop, after all.
