Holy shit, this song makes me want to rip out patches of my own hair, light the patches on fire inside of an aluminum trashcan, and throw the blazing hair fire into the window of some corporate outpost.
“DMT” by the Texas trio Purple is relentlessly brutal six minutes of thrashing, angry rock music that never stops crescendoing or spiraling into sheer madness. Don’t be fooled by that cute lil pup in the introduction to this video, Purple take you down a hole that is at once psychedelic (the title of this song is a reference to an intense bodily hallucinogen that is thought to be related to near-death hallucinations), and utterly aggressive. Sure, the video starts off  with average “band plays music in the desert” footage but then they all start to bleed from their fucking faces and the sky turns into a quadruple rainbow-all-the-way. It’s a terrifying, beautiful trip, and I wanted all you guys to join me.
Purple are currently working on the followup to their debut album 409, which you can listen to here. Rage on, dudes!
Holy shit indeed. Thanks for sharing this.
