Music Geek Track of the Day: ‘1 Trap Mind’ by Gordon Voidwell

What do Bill Cosby sweaters, lopsided fades, and Prince-esque funk have in common? They are all crucial ingredients to Gordon Voidwell’s blissful aesthetic.

The branded intro of “1 Trap Mind” that includes the exploding molten lava is about right. You are about to enter Gordon Voidwell’s world, where skipping backwards is the only reasonable way to dance. His falsetto sounds like he inhaled a healthy portion of a helium balloon, but also like it could pop a balloon if he hit the right frequency. Huge fan of this — wait for the sun to come out and put this track on repeat.

Check out the rest of Gordon Voidwell’s 17-track album, Bad Études, here.
