Star Trek Beyond

At last weekend’s Star Trek Fan Event, Paramount gave away one thousand copies of a limited edition Star Trek Beyond poster to lucky attendees, designed as an homage to 1979’s Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Now, the studio has unveiled a new official theatrical poster for the film. While it’s certainly vibrant and colorful, I can’t help but note that like so many of today’s posters it utilizes photography instead of illustration. And if there are two things I wish there were more of in today’s movies, it’s illustration art in their marketing campaigns and the memorable orchestral theme music in their scores…

Star Trek Beyond 5

Finally today… Two actors one doesn’t typically associate with noir thrillers, Simon Pegg (pictured above in Star Trek Beyond) and Mike Myers, have signed on for Terminal, a film about hitmen on a high-paying suicide mission. Hollywood “It Girl” Margot Robbie is also on board the Vaughn Stein-directed movie. We haven’t seen Myers on the big screen since his cameo in Inglourious Basterds, so here’s hoping the wait was worth it.
