One of the best animated movies of the last 25 years is finally getting due recognition, as we’ve got word on the ultimate The Iron Giant tribute in today’s Movie Morsels. Plus, the latest from Captain America: Civil War, Star Wars: Episode VIII, Now You See Me 2, and more!
The Iron Giant
Well, better late than never… It’s been 17 years since Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant hit theaters, to great critical acclaim but an underwhelming box office take (mainly due to a lackluster marketing campaign). Now, in the wake of last year’s “Signature Edition” theatrical release, and with the long-awaited Blu-ray coming soon, a well deserved behind-the-scenes book, The Art of the Iron Giant, is also on its way. Check out some images from author Ramin Zahed’s 160-page book (due out on August 5) below…
Captain America: Civil War
The latest promotional images from Captain America: Civil War come to us via some new tattoo art, and offer what may be our best look yet at the film’s new costume designs, including those for Cap, Iron Man, Black Widow, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Warhead, Vision, Hawkeye, the Black Panther, and, most intriguingly, Emily VanCamp’s Agent 13. Is it just me or do her battle staves look an awful lot like Daredevil’s billy club? Hmmm…
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo’s film arrives on May 6, and stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Daniel Brühl.
Star Wars: Episode VIII
Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd (whom you may have seen on TV’s Scream Queens) made a brief appearance in J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens, and will be returning for Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII. “Who is Billie Lourd?” you say? Yeah, I asked the same question. Thanks to Slashfilm for explaining. Turns out she was (appropriately enough) one of Leia’s lieutenants, Connix. Here’s a pic of her in action…
âOh yeah, yeah,â Lourd told Slash of her upcoming return appearance. âThe last one was a little Whereâs Waldo-y.â

Everybody Wants Some
Richard Linklater’s college dramedy Everybody Wants Some, the “spiritual sequel” to Dazed and Confused, is already generating positive buzz, and looks to continue the director’s winning streak. The film’s trailer hit in December, but now we have a red band trailer that amps up its irreverence..
Now You See Me 2
Finally today… Each of the illusionists known as the Four Horsemen is getting his or her own character poster for the Lionsgate sequel Now You See Me 2, starting with Jesse Eisenberg’s J. Daniel Atlas (a.k.a The Showman)…
Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Sanaa Lathan, Dave Franco, Daniel Radcliffe, Jay Chou, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Lizzy Caplan star with Eisenberg for director Jon M. Chu in the June 10 release.
