Jurassic World

And speaking of the upcoming dino-might sequel… We’ve already seen the final trailer for Jurassic World, but that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the final behind-the-scenes featurette for director Colin Trevorrow’s film, arriving this Friday, June 12th. Check out what famed paleontologist and consultant Jack Horner has to say about the film below.

Terminator Genisys

Wondering what Terminator creator James Cameron thinks of Terminator Genisys? Here’s a new video interview with the maverick filmmaker, in which he comments on director Alan Taylor’s sequel, the fifth in the Terminator series, which opens on July 1st. Terminator Genisys stars Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke, former Doctor Who Matt Smith, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Sarah Connor’s “Guardian” T-800.

Big Trouble in Little China

Big Trouble in Little China

While nerddom still deals with the news that Dwayne Johnson is starring in a remake of director John Carpenter’s cult classic Big Trouble in Little China, Johnson himself has just announced that he wants Carpenter on board. “I loved reading the reactions from the fans, that they were so polarized – I’m the same way,” Johnson tells Entertainment Weekly. “My response is: know that I come to the project with nothing but love and respect for the original, which is why we want to bring on John Carpenter.”

“I loved the original when I was younger,” he adds, “and I loved the main character – all the characters. It felt like if we surrounded ourselves with the right group of people, the right writers who loved the movie too and wanted to honor it, bring on John Carpenter in some capacity … If we did that, then we have a shot at hopefully making something good. Let’s see what feels good, what we can come up with and then go from there. As we write it, if the whole thing starts to stink up, then we thank everybody for their efforts and accept this just couldn’t make it.”

For his part, Carpenter doesn’t hold any hard feelings about the remake, since he only directed and did not write the original film. “I only know what I read in the papers,” says JC on Facebook. “I’m not involved with it… I didn’t write the original one–no harm, no foul.”
