Movie Morsels: New PIXELS and PAN Trailers and a New Release Date for WARCRAFT

If you don’t like previews of the hottest upcoming movies Hollywood has to offer than by all means do NOT read any further, because today’s Movie Morsels is jam-packed with trailers. With new advance looks at Jurassic World, Pan, and Pixels, as well as the first trailer for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and Zac Efron’s We Are Your Friends. Plus, a new release date for Duncan Jones’ Warcraft! So let’s get this party started…

Jurassic World

How much dino chomping, clomping, and stomping can you stand before the June 12th release of the fourth film in the Jurassic Park series? Hopefully, quite a bit. Because Universal has just released four (!) more TV spots for its Jurassic World. Check ’em out below! Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, as well as Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Judy Greer, Katie McGrath, Lauren Lapkus, Andy Buckley, and oodles and oodles of ferocious dinosaurs.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

If you’re a fan of YA dystopian thrillers, you might be a little broken up that the much-loved Hunger Games screen saga is finally coming to an end later this year. Well, fret not. For you still have at least two more Maze Runner films to enjoy. And the first trailer for the next chapter, adapting author James Dashner’s second novel in The Maze Runner series, has just landed online. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials again stars Dylan O’Brien, along with Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Patricia Clarkson, Rosa Salazar, Aidan Gillen, and Giancarlo Esposito. Directed by Wes Ball, it debuts in 3D, 2D, and IMAX theaters on September 18th.

Pixels

Pac-Man is featured prominently in the latest trailer for Sony’s Pixels. The action-comedy/video-game homage stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage, and Brian Cox, in an epic about former ’80s video game champs whose skills are required to save the world. What we saw of it during Sony’s presentation at the recent CinemaCon in Las Vegas looked pretty hilarious. Especially if, like me, you never really got over the ’80s… Directed by Chris Columbus, Pixels opens on July 24th.

Pan

What’s that? You want another trailer? Well… It’s been a little while since we’ve seen something new from director Joe Wright’s Pan. Thankfully, we’ve now got a new preview showcasing the visual opulence of this take on J.M. Barrie’s immortal children’s tale Peter Pan. Arriving on October 9th, Pan stars Hugh Jackman as the pirate Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as Hook, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, Adeel Akhtar as Smee, and young Levi Miller as Peter Pan himself. The film also features Taejoo Na, Nonso Anozie, Kathy Burke, Kurt Egyiawan, Lewis MacDougall, Leni Zieglmeier, Jack Charles, and Amanda Seyfried.

We Are Your Friends

Okay, fine, but just one more trailer… Zac Efron won a lot of folks who thought he was just a pretty face over with his performance in last year’s Neighbors. Now we’ll see if the former teen heartthrob can still cut it when he’s not starring opposite Seth Rogen… Egron plays a DJ torn between love and career in We Are Your Friends. Directed by Max Joseph, this Wall Street of the Hollywood nightlife scene also stars Emily Ratajkowski and Wes Bentley. We Are Your Friends premieres on August 28th.
