Avatar
Even the most devoted of Avatar fans may find the latest news on the franchise to be, well, just a bit much… Writer-director James Cameron made a surprise appearance at this week’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas to announce that he’s presently developing not three, but four sequels to his science-fiction megahit. Job security, thy name is Sam Huntington.
Meg
After fighting with Vin Diesel in his last movie Furious 7, Jason Statham has found, for his next project, the only opponent on Earth more imposing: a giant shark. Statham will star in Meg, a dinosaur adventure movie directed by National Treasure helmer Jon Turteltaub. The title beast of the long-in-development film is a Carcharodon Megalodon, a “70-foot, 40-ton prehistoric kin to the great white shark.”
The Neon Demon
Last but not least, we have the new trailer for Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn’s upcoming horror film The Neon Demon. Starring Elle Fanning and Keanu Reeves, the film tells the story of model who moves to LA and soon finds herself the target of a group of women out to steal her beauty for themselves. As per usual with Refn, this ain’t your usual genre flick…
