Point Break

Ramirez

Sorry, world, but you have five months longer to wait for your new Johnny Utah and Bodhi. Warner Bros. has just pushed its Point Break remake — starring Edgar Ramirez (pictured above in Deliver Us from Evil) and Luke Bracey in the roles made famous by Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze — back from from July 31st to December 25th. Last week we reported that the studio had moved its Mission Impossible 5 forward to January 31st, so Point Break is switching places with the Tom Cruise sequel. Apparently WB thinks we prefer surfers to spies on Christmas. The studio also announced its Rocky spinoff Creed will open November 25th.

Frozen Fever

Yesterday, we saw the first images from Frozen Fever, the Frozen sequel short — featuring the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad — that will play before Cinderella. And today we’ve got a behind-the-scenes look at the film with directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. If you just can’t let Frozen go, you can catch Frozen Fever on March 13th.

The Lazarus Effect

Reanimation appears to have put Olivia Wilde in something of a sour mood in The Lazarus Effect, the trailer for which just landed online. The David Gelb-directed horror thriller — co-starring Sarah Bolger, Mark Duplass, Evan Peters, and Donald Glover — opens on February 27th.

Brace yourselves, ladies. The poster for Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike sequel, Magic Mike XXL, has arrived. Co-starring the returning Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias along with newbies Elizabeth Banks, Donald Glover (here’s hoping he brings his Sexy Dracula), Amber Heard, Andie MacDowell, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Michael Strahan, the film is directed by Gregory Jacobs (Behind the Candelabra), with original Magic Mike director Stephen Soderbergh producing. Magic Mike XXL debuts on July 1st.

A Point Break remake? That would be a waste of time. They’re just going to f*#k it up.
