Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The latest tidbit of news on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to emerge from the film’s Chicago shoot is that the DC character Kahina may appear in the film, possibly in connection with Aquaman. Photos from the film’s set reveal a trailer door with the name emblazoned on it.

“In DC canon, Kahina is a member of The Others; a team who were tasked with hunting down Aquaman villain Black Manta. The character is a ‘seer’, and has visions of the future. Could this somehow relate to how Aquaman/Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) will be introduced in the movie?”

It’s not much. But we’ll obviously hear much more as production continues in the days ahead.

Directed by Rene Perez, the movie was just picked up by Uncork’d Entertainment at this year’s American Film Market. “In the film, a sheriff must rescue an estranged family from a mountain during a volcano eruption and fight off a horde of lava-filled zombies brought to life by a curse. Jeff Miller and Jason Ancona wrote and produced the film which also stars Moniqua Plante (Nashville), and Robert F. Lyons (Death Wish II, Murphy’s Law).

Starry Eyes

Remember Naomi Watts’ famous “audition” scene in David Lynch’s Mulholland Dr.? If that wasn’t weird (or uncomfortable) enough for you, you might want to check out a scene featuring another young actress pursuing a role in the hopes of making it big in Tinseltown. Only to discover quickly the dark side of show business. The following clip is from Starry Eyes, a new indie chiller starring Alexandra Essoe that’s getting a good bit of buzz. Dark Skies brings it to iTunes, VOD, and theaters on November 14th. Here’s the synopsis:

“Determined to make it as an actress in Hollywood, Sarah Walker spends her days working a dead-end job, enduring petty friendships and going on countless casting calls in hopes of catching her big break. After a series of strange auditions, Sarah lands the leading role in a new film from a mysterious production company. But with this opportunity comes bizarre ramifications that will transform her both mentally and physically into something beautiful… and altogether terrifying.”
