It’s been a long wait for James Bond fans, but at long last we’re getting final word on the cast and title of the twenty-fourth 007 adventure this week. Of course we haven’t had nearly so long to wait between Hobbit installments, and after this month’s trilogy capper could there be even more Middle-earth in Peter Jackson’s future? One of the director’s biggest stars seems to think so… And have you ever wanted to enjoy some ganja with celebrity stoner Seth Rogen? Well we just learned how to make it happen. James Bond 24
Only two days to go until the title and cast of the twenty-fourth 007 movie is revealed at a special press conference in London’s Pinewood Studios on Thursday, December 4th. Ralph Fiennes’ M, Ben Whishaw’s Q, and Naomie Harris’ Moneypenny are all expected to join star Daniel Craig, as well as Blue Is the Warmest Color‘s Léa Seydoux as the latest Bond Girl. Will Christoph Waltz put in an appearance as the film’s baddie? (My fingers are tightly crossed he’s confirmed as Blofeld, the Joker to James Bond’s Batman.) And will the rumors that Monica Belluci also appears in the film be proven true? Live streaming of the event will be available at 007.com and Deadline.com at 11 AM UK time (6 AM ET/3 AM PT).

The Silmarillion
With the final Hobbit film arriving this month, it’s time to start some Silmarillion rumors! Could J.R.R. Tolkien’s pre-history of Middle-earth one day be adapted to the screen by Peter Jackson? Ian McKellen, for one, doesn’t believe Jackson is quite finished after The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies opens on December 17th. Speaking from the red carpet at the film’s London premiere, the man behind the grey wizard’s beard remarked, “I was told by Peter, in 2001, that that was the end, that it was all over. Here we are 13 years later. So I don’t believe necessarily that this is the end of the journey.”
Source Code 2
Duncan Jones’ 2011 Jake Gyllenhaal-starring Source Code was a nice little sci-fi thriller that proved a modest success at the box office despite being released in a world where every mainstream genre project has to be The Biggest Thing Ever. Now we hear that a follow-up film is in the works, though little is known about it except for the name of the woman at the helm. “Anna Foerster is signed to direct the sequel, which is currently without a cast or distributor. Those will presumably follow in fairly short order for the indie. The Mark Gordon Company and Vendome Pictures, which made the original, are behind the sequel; Vendome is financing. And Ben Ripley will once again write the sequel, following on his script for the original film. There are no story points announced at this point.”
The Interview
Ever wanted to hang out and smoke weed with Seth Rogen? Now’s your chance. The comic star, in what appears to be a first for mainstream movie promotion, has invited fans via Twitter to get high with him before a special screening in Colorado (the only state in the country to legally permit the use of recreational marijuana) of his next film The Interview, due out on December 25th.

Inferno
Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Theory of Everything star Felicity Jones may have her next project lined up. The red-hot actress is in talks to co-star alongside Tom Hanks in Inferno, the adaptation of the third book in Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code series. “Jones is being considered for the role of Sienna Brooks, a doctor who helps Hanks’ character Henry Langdon recover from amnesia to prevent a madman from releasing a global plague. Ron Howard will direct from a script written by David Koepp.”

Peter Jackson has done a great job with the two trilogies. I read the books when I was a kid in the 80’s and I can’t believe how far we’ve come since then with realism. And he cut a bit of story which I didn’t really enjoy like Tom Bombadil.

Silmarillion will never happen as long as Christopher Tolkien has a say. He wasn’t a fan of the LOTR movies (don’t know how he feels about The Hobbit ones) and he has said he will never let Silmarillion be adapted, especially by Peter Jackson.
While I don’t disagree with you (I’m not being a troll!) I’m sure people said LOTR would never be a movie(s) for various, countless reasons. I’m willing to bet if there was enough money thrown at him (Christopher) he’d probably agree to it.
The Hobbit movies are just Battle Ballet.
It would be such a hard book to adapt in any case as it spans almost 10,000 years. Parts like Beren and Luthien and The children of Hurin could be adapted though.

Inferno is the 4th book featuring Robert Langdon by Dan Brown not the 3rd. The 3rd is The Lost Symbol.
Agreed. Lost symbol was also better than Inferno. They should have shot that one first.
