Halloween, and the end of the month, is almost upon us, which means next month’s release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 isn’t far behind. We have the film’s final trailer for you, along with one for another Jennifer Lawrence film, Serena, in which the actress is again teamed with Bradley Cooper… Amidst the controversy surrounding Terminator: Genisys, one thing fandom can agree on is that former Doctor Who Matt Smith cuts a fine figure in his as yet unnamed role. just take a look at the Entertainment Weekly cover below on which he’s featured. Terminator: Genisys

Warner Bros. dropped some heavy info yesterday regarding the plot of its Terminator reboot, Terminator: Genisys. The news that has most fans in a tizzy is that Sarah Connor no longer begins her story as the innocent everywoman she was in James Cameron’s original 1984 film, but rather as a child raised by a T-800 (played Arnold Schwarzenegger) whom she calls “Pops,” preparing for the future in much the same way John Connor did in T2: Judgement Day. But hey, at least we can take some comfort in the fact that our beloved Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith is looking like a lean, mean robot-killin’ machine on Entertainment Weekly‘s exclusive cover, one of two devoted to Genisys. Check ’em both out below, featuring Games of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese on the “present” cover, with Smith and Jason Clarke as John Connor on the “future” cover. Robopocalypse

While we know the machine-induced end of days is coming courtesy of Terminator: Genisys, we’re less certain about the long-simmering Steven Spielberg film Robopocalypse. The adaptation of the Daniel H. Wilson sci-fi novel was full steam ahead with names like Chris Hemsworth, Anne Hathaway and Ben Whishaw set to star, as well as Drew Goddard penning the screenplay until Spielberg pumped the brakes in spring 2013. Though it has stalled out, the project may not be dead yet according to producer/author Daniel H. Wilson. Speaking with Den of Geek, Wilson said:

“It’s basically in the queue as far as I know. You know, Spielberg has other movies that he’s directing right now. But Robopocalypse has certainly been worked on. I’m sure that Dreamworks is still very excited about it. That’s what all indications are. It’s just about being patient, you know? I think one of the films on Spielberg’s slate is The BFG, and that’s been floating around for about ten years! I don’t really know what a timeline is, but that’s certainly normal. So I’m just being patient and working on all my projects. It would be some wonderful bonus points if that ever comes together.”

Well, hopefully we won’t have to wait ten years because Steven Spielberg’s version of the robot apocalypse is something we most definitely want to see. [JoBlo]

The final trailer for the first part of The Hunger Games‘ epic conclusion has just landed online. Get your last fresh glimpse of Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss — threatening the diabolical President Snow (Donald Sutherland) himself — on your computer before catching her in action again on the big screen on November 21. And speaking of J-Law… The Oscar winner’s third screen pairing with Bradley Cooper was shot two years ago, but its U.S. trailer has only just been released, in anticipation of an early 2015 release. Based on the novel by Ron Rash, Serena stars Lawrence in the title role as the newlywed bride of Cooper’s George Pemberton, the two of them owners of a timber empire that’s threatened once his past catches up with them. Director Susanne Bier’s film debuts on March 27th.

Hail, Caesar!

2014 is a dark year for Coen fans, what with no new film from the brilliant brothers in theaters. But rest assured their follow-up to last year’s much-praised Inside Llewyn Davis will arrive in 2015, and loaded with enough star power to make the long wait worthwhile. George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Josh Brolin, Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, and Channing Tatum all star in Hail, Caesar!, arriving on February 5th, 2016. 13 Hours

Since his announcement in August that he won’t direct the next Transformers movie, one might be wondering what adrenaline-addled explosion aficionado Michael Bay has lined up next. Apparently, the filmmaker is looking for something grounded in some kind of reality — word is he’s considering 13 Hours, the adaptation of Mitchell Zuckoff’s Thirteen Hours: A Firsthand Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi, abut the infamous attack on a U.S. Special Mission Compound and CIA Annex in Libya on the eleventh anniversary of September 11.

“Bay said in August that while the next Transformers is already dated, he would not be returning to direct, and while this film will not feature the same elements, it still fits into his wheelhouse of action-heavy material and could bear similarities to Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down or even Bay’s own hostage pic The Rock.”

It may be the tenth anniversary of the horror franchise that reminded us just how creepy puppets truly can be, but that isn’t going to prevent Screen Junkies from dropping truth bombs in their Honest Trailer for Saw.
