Movie Morsels: Guillermo Del Toro’s JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK Update, TOMORROWLAND Trailer, More AGE OF ULTRON Cast Additions!

The Easter Bunny doesn’t arrive until Sunday, but we’ve got all kinds of goodies for you in today’s Movie Morsels. Guillermo del Toro gives us the latest on his Justice League Dark, two new cast members are announced for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tomorrowland gets its most revealing trailer yet, Jenna Coleman teams up with several other genre stars for a new romance film, and more!

Justice League Dark

Guillermo del Toro has a few words to say about the current status of his long-in-development Justice League Dark film (also known as Dark Universe), and related DC supernatural universe projects… “We turned in our [script] revision, and it all depends on the calendar, you know?” says the genre auteur. “If I can do it, I would love to do it. And I think that the screenplay and the characters are very solid… You cannot say, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it after I do this,’ or ‘I have the first season of The Strain‘… [It] needs to fall into the plan of the DC Universe.”

Del Toro — whose supernatural period thriller Crimson Peak is out on October 16th — added that if he doesn’t do Justice League Dark, “Somebody will do it.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Even more cast members have been announced for Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of UltronBefore Midnight‘s Julie Delpy and Scooby-Doo‘s Linda Cardellini. No word yet on who they’ll play, but could Cardellini turn out to be Captain Marvel? We’ve already heard the good Captain will not appear in the film, but might Marvel introduce her alter ego Carol Danvers in the May 1st release? Fingers crossed!

Tomorrowland

The latest international trailer for Brad Bird’s Disney sci-fi epic Tomorrowland is online, and it offers a few revealing clues to the highly guarded film’s actual plot. The George Clooney/Britt Robertson/Hugh Laurie starrer arrives on May 22nd.

Survivor

Pierce Brosnan gets down with his bad self in the trailer for Survivor, starring the former James Bond as a hit man/mad bomber targeting foreign service officer Milla Jovovich, who’s framed for a terrorist act she didn’t commit. Director James McTeigue’s actioner is out on May 29th.

Me Before You

Doctor Who Series 8 (ep10)

Broadway theater director Thea Sharrock’s adaptation of novelist’s Jojo Moyes bestselling Me Before You is becoming a regular who’s who of genre favorites. Starring Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke and Hunger Games‘ Sam Claflin as mistmatched lovers brought together by tragic circumstances, the film can now boast two other familiar names: Clarke’s GOT co-star Charles Dance and the current companion to Peter Capaldi’s Doctor Who, Jenna Coleman. Moyes is co-scripting the film with Fault in Our Stars screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber.
