Forget Batman v. Superman or Hulk v. Thor: the big confrontation of movie titans is in today’s Movie Morsels, when J.J. Abrams got a surprise question on camera from George Lucas about Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Plus, new Suicide Squad photos, a clip from The Peanuts Movie, and more!
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams is getting hit with a lot of questions these days. But there’s no interviewer as intimidating as the Father of the Force himself. In a new video from Vanity Fair, Abrams takes questions from various actors and assorted one-percenters, and gets a surprise from Star Wars creator George Lucas, who’s as curious about Anakin Skywalker’s descendants as we are…
Starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on December 18th. [Vanity Fair]
Suicide Squad
Empire magazine has been spoiling us this week with a ton of covers devoted to the cast of Suicide Squad. Now we’ve got some choice photos from the magazine of the Task Force X!
Starring Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Scott Eastwood, Jay Hernandez, Karen Fukuhara, and Cara Delevingne, director David Ayer’s Suicide Squad arrives August 5, 2016. [Coming Soon]
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip
Like it or not (and somebody must be watching these movies or they wouldn’t be making so many of them), we’ve got the trailer for Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. The film stars Jason Lee and Justin Long and lands on December 18th. I don’t think there’s anything else opening that day, do you? Personally, I’m waiting for Alvin and the Chipmunks: Eurochip. [Fox]
The Peanuts Movie
Speaking of CG animation, here’s a new featurette and clip for The Peanuts Movie! Charlie Brown and co. return to the big screen on November 6th. [Fox]
Thor: Ragnarok
Finally this week, in case you missed it yesterday, it appears likely that Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will indeed engage in a rematch in Thor: Ragnarok (even if the latter describes the film as a “buddy movie”) when it hits theaters on July 28, 2017. [Nerdist]
