The long weekend may have come and gone, but there’s a steady stream of sweet, sweet movie news to help get you through the work week. In today’s edition of Movie Morsels, we’re looking at Frozen‘s return to the big screen, what happened to Hawkeye in Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, when we’ll finally see How to Train Your Dragon 3, and much more!

Frozen

Frozen isn’t just invading Once Upon a Time, the animated phenomenon is also reuniting Anna and Else for a new animated short, titled Frozen Fever. Announced on ABC’s The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic, the short film will reunite directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck with songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. Featuring an all new song, the short will debut in Spring 2015 and is said to be set during Anna’s birthday. Captain America: The Winter Soldier – Deleted Hawkeye Fight Scene

Did you find yourself missing a certain Hawkguy in this spring’s Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier? Evidently, so did the Russo Brothers. In a recent interview, they revealed that the original draft of the film called for an extended fight sequence between Cap and Hawkeye

“What it was going to be, we were trying to complicate the relationship between Cap and his S.H.I.E.L.D agent friends. If Hawkeye got a call from S.H.I.E.L.D saying Captain America is a fugitive, would he listen to that call or not listen to that call? That sequence actually was heartbreaking for us to cut. I think it ultimately might have been a conflict with Renner’s schedule.

But there was a great sequence where Hawkeye was chasing Cap through Washington D.C.. There was an awesome sequence where they confronted each other in a ravine on the outskirts of D.C. and Hawkeye was shooting a series of arrows closing in on Cap, Cap closing in on him. And then Cap took him down and he realized for the first time that Hawkeye was trying to trick S.H.I.E.L.D, where he whispered something into Cap’s ear that Cap had a tracker on his suit and to punch Hawkeye to make it look real, because there was a Quinjet hovering above where they were watching the feedback back at S.H.I.E.L.D. So it was a cool sequence.”

We’ll just have to wait for Avengers: Age of Ultron to find out what he was really up to. [Slashfilm]

How to Train Your Dragon 3

While DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon 2 soared into the hearts of many a theatergoer earlier this year, it’s looking like a third installment won’t be taking flight anytime soon. The film has been pushed back from a planned 2016 summer launch to the summer of 2017. Considering How to Train Your Dragon 2 grossed over $600 million worldwide, making it the highest grossing animated movie of the year, I’d say that this delay isn’t anything to worry about. [ScreenRant]

Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead

Nazis, zombies, and inclement weather — a combination so nice, audiences evidently want to see it twice! Director Tommy Wirkola’s Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead, a follow-up to the 2009 cult splatterfest, is coming to theaters on October 10, and just got a new poster to celebrate.

24: The Movie

After the success of this May’s 24: Live Another Day mini-series, Imagine Entertainment is reportedly kicking around the idea of finally making a 24 feature film with Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer kicking ass and taking names on the silver screen. Chairman Brian Grazer is evidently pleased with the current pitch, but the story has yet to be presented to 20th Century Fox, so it’s still in very early stages.  [Collider]

Loki

The Asgardian God of Mischief may dominate the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom, but he’s never really been the subject of his own film. One intrepid fan took matters into his or her own hands and cut together a two-hour feature film that puts the spotlight squarely on Hiddles McGriddles.

The Sound and the Fury

James Franco’s adaptation of William Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury is making its world premiere later this week at the Venice International Film Festival, but this clip has us wishing it was coming to a theater near us ASAP. Watch as Jason Compson (Scott Haze) has a bit of an argument with his niece, Miss Quentin (Joey King), about her attire.
