Once Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives on December 18, can we just jump ahead to February so we can finally see Deadpool? Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth isn’t making the wait any easier in the film’s latest promo. Also in today’s Movie Morsels, photos from the set of John Wick 2 and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the trailer for the Now You See Me sequel, and more!
Deadpool
If you thought Santa Claus was the only man in red this holiday season, then think again, hombre! Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool wants us all to know he’s just as happy to have us sit on his lap. And who doesn’t want to cuddle up with the Merc with a Mouth? Fox has unveiled a new theater standee for the February 12th release, which looks to put as big a smile on our faces as any jolly old elf.

John Wick 2
If for some reason you haven’t seen it yet, let me add my voice to the multitudes who proclaim John Wick as one of the finest revenge thrillers of the last several years. So check it out already, and then you’ll be just as happy as I am I to see these spy photos some intrepid bystander took of the John Wick 2 set. A bloodied and battered Keanu Reeves battling baddies in New York’s Chinatown? I’m so there. Directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, John Wick 2 hits theaters next year.
Note: You can watch a video of the above mayhem on The Daily Mail website.
Now You See Me 2
I’ll admit I was a little meh on the whole stage-magicians-become-jewel-thieves-become-real-magicians-or-do-they? spectacle of Now You See Me. But the sequel has Daniel Radcliffe and Lizzy Caplan, and I will watch Lizzy Caplan in damn near anything. The film’s trailer shows Ms. C demonstrating some magical powers of her own in the Jon M. Chu-directed thriller, opening on June 10, 2016.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
If you’re wondering what Milla Jovovich would eventually look like if they really did continue making Resident Evil movies forever, the actress gives us a pretty good idea in her latest photo from the next Resident Evil. Of course since the next one (arriving on September 2, 2016 ) is titled The Final Chapter, we won’t actually reach this point.
How to Be Single
Finally today, we have the trailer for the upcoming comedy How to Be Single, starring Rebel Wilson, Damon Wayans, Jr., Alison Brie, Jason Mantzoukas, Leslie Mann, and… Dakota Johnson? After Fifty Shades of Grey, the actress isn’t exactly known for prompting belly laughs (at least not intentionally), but I’m all for more female-driven ensemble comedies, so I’ll withhold judgement on the February 12, 2016 release for now.
