Merry Christmas from Movie Morsels, everyone! In today’s holiday installment we’ve got such stocking stuffers as the first-ever pics of fan-favorite mutant Colossus in Deadpool, the latest on Star Wars: Episode VIII, a red band trailer for Fifty Shades of Black, and much more. Feliz Navidad, film lovers!
Deadpool
Yesterday we got our first look at the Russian X-man Colossus in Fox’s upcoming Deadpool. And today we have the first-ever photos of the film’s metal-skinned mutant, as played by Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic, looking pretty darn faithful to his comic-book counterpart!
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor remarks:
[Director] Tim Millerâs idea of Colossus was to be bigger and stronger than everyone else. So for the motion capture they needed an extremely tall man. Iâm 6-foot-4, but he wanted Colossus to be over 7 feet, so they used a stunt double to recreate his height, and he did very good job there. Tim also wanted Colossus to sound as close as possible to the comic book characterâs background, so he had me to come in, since my voice was what he envisioned for Colossus, who has an authentic Russian accent. My characterâs voice gives him the past history as Piotr Rasputin once you hear him speak. This made him the most authentic to the original idea of the comic book character.
Star Wars: Episode VIII
So how good is the script for Star Wars: Episode VIII? So good it’s given The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams second thoughts about handing the franchise over to Rian Johnson. In a new interview, Abrams regular Greg Grunberg, who plays a Resistance pilot in Episode VII, says of the next film’s script, “He read it and said something he never, ever says. He said, ‘It’s so good, I wish I were making it.'” Grunberg reportedly added that he had “never heard Abrams express that level of regret over a project.”

Fifty Shades of Black
Fifty Shades of Black is such a great name for a parody of Fifty Shades of Grey that for a moment I actually thought it was actually a sequel to the inexplicable S&M hit. Here’s the red band trailer for the film, starring Marlon Wayans, Kali Hawk, Mike Epps, Andrew Bachelor, Affion Crockett, Jane Seymour, Fred Willard, and… Florence Henderson?
I Saw the Light
No matter how closely the Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light adheres to the cliches of its genre, there’s no doubt that star Tom Hiddleston will once again be acting his damn head off as the late country music pioneer. The latest international trailer alone shows how well Hiddles is conveying the weight of Williams’ demons…

Inferno
The second Da Vinci Code sequel will see red-hot Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron) joining franchise star Tom Hanks. And now we’ve got a new pic of the two thespians in action:

The Brothers Grimsby
Finally today, one last little bon mot before Christmas… Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong strut their stuff as a real super spy and his wannabe super spy brother in the new poster for the comedy thriller The Brothers Grimsby. Penelope Cruz co-stars in the March 11th release.
