Ant-Man
As part of its new Summer Movie Preview special, Entertainment Weekly nabbed Ant-Man director Peyton Reed and star Paul Rudd to talk about the film’s big fight sequences between title hero Scott Lang and his arch-nemesis Darren Cross, better known as Yellowjacket (pictured above, played by Corey Stoll). “Hank Pym’s Ant-Man suit doesn’t have a single weapon,” says Reed, “whereas Yellowjacket is armed with plasma cannons.” But, adds the director, “Ant-Man is very fast when he’s small. Also, when he shrinks, he increases his density, so he’s got increased strength.” EW reports that Lang’s ability to communicate with ants also comes in handy when he tries to “steal Yellowjacket’s garb.” Regarding the motion-capture suit he wore during the action scenes, Rudd remarks, “It was a new experience as far as the motion-capture-suit-ness of it. But none of it feels that different. Every part, I’m pretending to be somebody I’m not. It’s all just a big lie!”
Reed also denies rumors that he recently reshot part of the film (not that that matters too much these days, when extra shooting is almost de rigueur for big studio films). “We are going to do a little bit of additional photography, but we have not done any yet. It’s minor stuff.”
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Another day, another Avengers: Age of Ultron featurette. Oh go ahead, you know you want to watch it. This one comes courtesy of Dr. Pepper, and has our best look yet at the size of Ultron’s army, as well as more Bruce-Natasha (Bratasha?) for all of you romantics out there…

Fantastic Four
Following yesterday’s reveal of The Thing in Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four comes another look at Jamie Bell as the presumably mo-capped rock-encrusted superhero. I’ll admit the character looks pretty good, but I’m still not sure how I feel about Trank approaching the FF — Marvel’s first family and, in its still unparalleled original version by Jack Kirby, the Marvel Universe equivalent of feel-good, comfort food — as “more like a horror movie than a superhero flick.” “I just kinda jumped to ‘body horror’ in my head,†says Trank. “Chronicle is about the evolution and strengthening of unique powers. This movie is really viewing them as a curse.” Fantastic Four opens on August 7th.
The Flash
Well, it’s official. The Lego Movie directors are indeed writing a treatment for a big-screen adaptation of DC’s The Flash, in which Ezra Miller is set to star as the Scarlet Speedster. There’s no word yet on whether the duo will direct the film (due on March 22, 2018), but the two have not yet chosen their next project to helm. So it could be a thing.

Cue the fan squees. Suicide Squad director David Ayer just tweeted a photo of the film’s Joker, Jared Leto, his hair clearly dyed green, in the same pose the Clown Prince of Crime occupies on the cover of that most famous of all Joker comics — The Killing Joke.

Tomorrowland
Disney’s released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Brad Bird’s upcoming Tomorrowland (out on May 22nd), with stars George Clooney and Britt Robertson, and it offers us the brightest look at its futuristic city we’ve yet seen.

The Haunted Mansion
An in other Disney-theme-park-attraction adaptation news… It looks like Ryan Gosling is moving into Guillermo del Toro’s Haunted Mansion. The actor, who got his start at Disney as a Mousketeer and demonstrated his love of horror in his recent directorial debut Lost River, is in talks to star in the long-in-development film. Gosling and Del Toro appeared on stage together at this year’s SXSW (pictured above), and were even “photographed together at Disneyland over Oscar weekend, where they rode the Haunted Mansion ride in addition to Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.” Awww…

Slow Learners
If the rest of directors Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce’s new indie comedy Slow Learners (debuting at next week’s Tribeca Film Festival) is anywhere near as funny or observant as the clip that’s just landed online, then the film is an absolute must see. The Mindy Project‘s Adam Pally and Enlightened‘s Sarah Burns star as two nerds determined to transform themselves into sexual dynamos.
