Principal photography began yesterday on the set of Bourne 5 with returning star Matt Damon. And we’ve got the first image from the production in today’s Movie Morsels, as well as the newest clip from Damon’s latest film, The Martian. Plus, trailers for Sandra Bullock and Jake Gyllenhaal‘s next movies, and big casting news on Halloween Returns!
Bourne 5
Producer Frank Marshall has tweeted the first photo of Matt Damon from the set of the next Bourne movie, which started shooting yesterday. Bourne 5 sees not only the star’s return to the franchise he made famous, but also director Paul Greengrass — who helmed the series’ best entries, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum.

Our Brand Is Crisis
Hey, remember when Sandra Bullock played an astronaut in jeopardy? We do too, but now it’s time to talk about an entirely different side of Sandy. We now have on our hands the trailer for Bullock’s upcoming Our Brand Is Crisis, in which the megastar plays “Calamity” Jane Bodine, a retired political consultant hired for the 2002 Bolivian presidential election. Director David Gordon Green’s dramedy is based on the identically named 2005 documentary. Co-starring Scoot McNairy, Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie, and Ann Dowd, it arrives on October 30th.

Demolition
Who’s up for another star vehicle trailer? This time it’s Jake Gyllenhaal in Demolition, a drama in which he plays an investment banker grappling with the sudden death of his wife. Chris Cooper and Naomi Watts co-star in the April 8, 2016 release, directed by Jean-Marc Vallée. It’s scheduled to open the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
Halloween Returns
Halloween Returns director Marcus Dunstan, whose film is a direct sequel to 1981’s Halloween II, has announced he’s love to cast Community star Gillian Jacobs in the lead…
“Sheâs known for all this comedy on Community, and yet I didnât know her from Community first, I knew her from a movie called Gardens of the Night, which is one of the most wrenching dramas, and sheâs excellent. I thought, âI wonder if this great performer would do that again, would like to go there,â and I think so.â
Regarding the film’s title, Dunstan comments, “It does function as what it means to say: If you commit a violent act, sometimes you get returns. What are the repercussions of being a violent entity? In that case, âHalloween Returnsâ could mean a number of things.â
