Movie Morsels: First Look at AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON’s Iron Legion and Jason Momoa as AQUAMAN, Plus Will Smith Talks SUICIDE SQUAD

It’s Friday, people! And though it caps a short work week, it’s no less welcome for it. So let’s start celebrating with an advance look at Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s Iron Legionnaires! We’ve also got your first look at Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Will Smith and Margot Robbie talking Deadshot and Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, the first official clip from The Divergent Series: Insurgent, the announcement of Barbershop 3, an update on the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, and the Red Band trailer for Simon Pegg’s latest. Enjoy!

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Thus far we haven’t seen all that much of Tony Stark’s Iron Legion soldiers in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Fortunately, we’ve got an advance look via the film’s merchandising. Last weekend’s Toy Fair offered a glimpse of the armored automatons via Kid Logic’s upcoming ear phone “plugys”…

As well as the film’s line of Minimates…

Iron Legion 2

But by far the best Marvel Movie-related toy on display was the official Ant-Man ant farm…

Aquaman

Ready to take the plunge into the DC Cinematic Universe? Zack Snyder revealed the first look of Jason Momoa as Aquaman last night on Twitter. Check it out right here: [Nerdist]

Suicide Squad

Will Smith and Margot Robbie’s Focus is in theaters next Friday, February 27th, so it’s the perfect time to hear a little more from the pair on their next movie, a little thing called Suicide Squad. Smith is looking forward to defining DC’s Deadshot for a global audience, while Robbie admits she’d like to play Harley Quinn in multiple films…

Suicide Squad starts its mission on August 5, 2016.

Insurgent

The first clip from The Divergent Series: Insurgent is here, with stars Shailene “My short hair is sexy” Woodley and Theo “My short hair is sexier” James staring deep into each other’s eyes and confessing, in so many words, that their lives would be reduced to pitiful ashes were the other one to perish. Dystopia has never been so soulful. Co-starring Kate Winslet, Octavia Spencer, and Naomi Watts, director Robert Schwentke’s Insurgent is in theaters on March 20th.

Barbershop 3

Barbershop 2

Is your hair getting a little too long? Because MGM is betting you want another trip to the Barbershop! It’s been a full ten years since Barbershop 2 debuted, and the studio is about to sign The Best Man director Malcolm D. Lee to helm Barbershop 3 — as well as series stars Ice Cube and Cedric The Entertainer. In the meantime, Lee has The Best Man 3 in theaters next year.

Fifty Shades Darker

Fifty Shades

Fifty Shades of Grey dominated (sorry) the Valentine’s Day weekend box office. So a sequel, based on the second book in E.L. James’ trilogy, Fifty Shades Darker, seems to be a given. But now we hear that James (who apparently had final say in the cut of the film that hit theaters) is demanding total control over the sequel’s screenplay — by writing it herself. Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson and screenwriter Kelly Marcel aren’t expected to return, and it’s possible this would push back the release of a follow-up film, since this would be former fan-fiction writer James’ first attempt at screenwriting.

Kill Me Three Times

The red band trailer for Simon Pegg’s latest has just arrived online via Magnet. Pegg plays a black-garbed hitman in the comedic thriller Kill Me Three Times, opposite Alice Braga, Teresa Palmer, and Sullivan Stapleton. Madness, presumably, ensues. Directed by Kriv Stenders, the film hits iTunes/On Demand on March 26 and theaters on April 10.

Deadpool

Gotham 2

And just in case y’all didn’t already hear — Firefly and Gotham’s Morena Baccarin has been cast as the female lead in Fox’s Deadpool!
