Superheroes, cyborgs, mallrats, mutant ninja turtles, and cartoon rock stars. Today’s Movie Morsels has got ’em all. Treat yourself to the first set photo from Captain America: Civil War, the latest images from Terminator Genisys and Jem and the Holograms, casting news on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, and Kevin Smith’s announcement of Mallrats 2‘s title.
Captain America: Civil War
Lately, we’ve heard a ton of recent casting announcements for next year’s Captain America: Civil War, but what we haven’t had is a photo of anyone in the film. Until now. Sebastian Stan, a.k.a. Bucky Barnes a.k.a. the returning Winter Soldier, has just posted a photo of himself on set wearing the same cap and jacket we last saw him in during the post-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It’s not much, but it’s a start. Civil War, co-starring Chris Evan’s Captain America and most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
Terminator Genisys
I’ll admit, Terminator Genisys isn’t the most satisfying title ever given to a movie. But the film sounds a lot more enticing if, like me, you refer to it as Khaleesi’s Gotta Gun! In any case, here are the character posters from the film, and one for each of its stars: John Connor (Jason Clarke), Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke), the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), and Byung-hun Lee (as the T-1000). Director Alan Taylor’s sequel/reboot, penned by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, arrives in theaters on July 1st.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
Never let it be said that the producers of last summer’s hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot don’t know how to cater to nostalgic Gen X audiences. New photos from the set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, again starring Megan Fox and Will Arnett as well as Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, reveal that the original Turtle film’s April O’Neil, actress Judith Hoag, will appear in director David Green’s sequel, debuting on June 3, 2016.
Mallbrats
So brat is the new rat (as opposed to some sort of b-level rat). Kevin Smith has declared that his Mallrats sequel shall be called Mallbrats. Smith broke the news yesterday on Facebook with a photo of the screenplay’s cover page.
IT'S MALL OR NOTHING!20 years in the making. 113 pages fulla old friends, new jokes and a bloody battle with Stan Lee! This is for you, Jim. Wish you were here… #MallBrats

Nice to hear that Stan the Man will again pop in a cameo. “Jim” is late producer Jim Jacks, who produced the original Mallrats. Thus far, the confirmed cast includes (in addition to Stan) Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Ethan Suplee, Shannen Doherty, Michael Rooker, Renee Humphrey, Joey Lauren Adams, Sven-Ole Thorsen, Scott Mosier, Bryan Johnson, Walt Flanagan, Brian OâHalloran, and Claire Forlani.
