Movie Morsels: New BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Photo Reveals Darkseid’s Presence

The steadily mounting sexual tension between Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne may soon be threatened by someone other than Lex Luthor and Doomsday. We’ve got a new pic in today’s Movie Morsels that confirms Darkseid’s presence in either Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or its sequel Justice League. Plus, the latest from Deadpool, Fifty Shades of Black, and more!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

In the previous TV spot for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Man of Steel told the Dark Knight he was going to kick his ass. In the film’s latest spot, it’s Bats’ turn to talk trash about Supes…

Of greater interest, however, is the appearance of Darkseid’s Omega symbol in the latest batch of photos released from the film, all of which can be seen in the current issue of Empire magazine…

Batman v Superman

Will the Lord of Apokolips (created by the immortal Jack Kirby) make his live-action debut in the superhero slugfest? Or is the above image merely teasing bigger things to come in the Justice League follow-up film? In either case, it looks like DC’s again trying to mimic Marvel by putting its own version of Thanos in its burgeoning cinematic universe. For the definitive screen take on Supes versus Darkseid, be sure to check out Superman: The Animated Series, the final episode of which features the ultimate battle between these two titans.

The new issue of Empire also offers an exclusive Dawn of Justice cover by DC co-publisher Jim Lee…

Deadpool

With The X-Files now back on TV (for six weeks at least), Deadpool (another Fox property) just can’t resist poking fun of/jumping on the bandwagon…

The first clip from Merc with a Mouth’s movie has also arrived online, and—surprise, surprise—it offers a look at the tender side of Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), specifically his relationship with Copycat (Morena Baccarin)…

Knight of Cups

He was the Dark Knight, but now he’s the Knight of Cups. The new poster for Terrence Malick’s latest sees star Christian Bale’s world turned upside down… literally. Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett co-star in the March 4 release.

Fifty Shades of Black

Look out, comedy fans! We have a new clip from Marlon Wayans’ Fifty Shades of Grey spoof, Fifty Shades of Black. Here we find out how Wayans’ Christian Black learned to dance: Seductively! Okay, it may not be quite as erotic as last year’s inexplicable hit drama, but it already looks a hundred times more entertaining… Directed by Michael Tiddes, Fifty Shades of Black hits theaters this Friday, January 29.

Carnage Park

Finally today, we have the first clip from one of the most anticipated Midnight movies at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Carnage Park. The film is said to concern two crooks and their hostage who, following a botched heist, run afoul of the titular wilderness and the crazed former military sniper who lives there. Directed by Mickey Keating and starring Ashley Bell, Carnage Park debuts tonight at the Library Center Theatre in Park City.
